Medical Courses: You will become a doctor after 12th, no need for NEET, just do this course

To become a doctor after 12th, it is usually necessary to pass NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), which is a common entrance exam for admission to medical courses in India. However, if you do not want to take NEET, there are some medical courses that you can pursue for a career in the healthcare sector, but these courses will not make you a “doctor” (with an MBBS degree). These courses are related to paramedical, nursing, and allied health sciences.

Here is a list of some courses that can be done after 12th:

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nursing

This course is of 4 years.

It teaches the basics of nursing, patient care, and medical sciences.

This is a good option for making a career in nursing.

  1. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

This course is of 4.5 years, which includes a 6-month internship.

In physiotherapy, patients are cured through physical exercise and therapy.

  1. Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm)

One can make a career as a pharmacist.

  1. Bachelor of Medical Lab Technology (BMLT)

This course is of 3 years.

In this, medical lab tests, diagnostic process, and lab management are taught.

  1. Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT)

This course is of 4.5 years.

In this, therapy is given to help patients in doing everyday tasks.

  1. Diploma in Nursing Care (GNM)

This course is of 3.5 years.

In this, the basics of nursing and patient care are taught.

  1. Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology (DMIT)

This course is of 2-3 years.

Medical imaging technology like X-ray, CT scan, MRI is taught in this.

  1. Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm)

Basic knowledge about medicines is given in this.

  1. Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Ayurvedic medical system is taught in this.

NEET is required for this, but it is an option apart from MBBS.

  1. Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)

This course is of 5.5 years.

Homeopathic medical system is taught in this.

NEET is also required for this.

  1. Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)

This course is of 5.5 years.

In this, Unani system of medicine is taught.

NEET is also required for this.

  1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Medical Technology

This course is of 3 years.

In this, various aspects of medical technology are taught.

  1. Diploma in Ophthalmic Technology
