The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made some important changes for 2025 which will directly affect the PF account holders. Let us know about these 5 major changes in detail.

Expansion of Higher Pension Scheme

Now PF account holders can apply for Higher Pension Scheme.

Eligibility will be decided on the basis of date of appointment and contribution period.

Speed up in online claim settlement

EPFO has implemented new technology to make online claim settlement faster than before.

Now the claim settlement will be done within 3 to 5 days.

Link to Aadhaar mandatory

It has been made mandatory to link all PF accounts with Aadhaar.

Contribution can be stopped in accounts without Aadhaar link.

Announcement of new interest rates

The interest rate for the financial year 2025 has been announced at 8.3%.

The insurance cover under the EDLI scheme has been increased to ₹8 lakh.

This insurance cover will be available to the family of PF account holders.

How to claim EPFO online?

Step-by-step guide:

Go to the Manage section: Update your Aadhaar, bank details and PAN correctly.

Click on Online Services:

Select the Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C) option.

KYC Verification: After KYC is correct, claim option will appear.

Submit Claim:

Fill the form and upload required documents.

Save Tracking ID after submission.

Check Status: Know the status from “Track Claim Status” option.

Claim settlement time: 3 to 5 working days.

Both EPF and EPS contribution must be made during the job.
